A Day in the Life of Business Development Manager - Luke Davies

In our latest day in the life post, we check in with our Business Development Manager Luke Davies on what his average day looks like from morning coffee to lights out!

5am I tend to always try and wake up early, attempting to be up before the kids. This gives me a chance to get organised for the day ahead. I first head down to the gym and kickstart the day with some healthy exercise. This also helps wake me up!

7am I get back home and help the kids get their breakfast. I then ensure they are dressed and ready for the day ahead. At 8am, I then drop my daughter off at nursery for the day.

9am To begin the day, I go through emails and ensure that I am up to date on everything. I check on any upcoming meetings for the day and prepare ahead for meeting agendas and content.

10am At 10am I have a new business meeting with a potential new client. On this occasion, they are interested in exploring our cross media measurement system and how this can help them drive increased insights around the effectiveness of multiple media streams.

10:45 Following my meeting, I grab a quick coffee and then move onto sending over any follow-ups from my previous meeting.

12:30pm I go and grab some lunch – A favourite of mine when in the office is Coco Di Mama, but if I’m working from home, I often grab a sandwich and then head back to my desk.

1:30pm Following lunch, I check our marketing campaigns for any new leads that have come through and reach out to begin any new conversations around our research solutions.

3pm Mid afternoon often heralds a popular time for client meetings. I look after any new clients that come on board with On Device Research for the first 12 months. The meeting today involves running through the analysis of the client's latest campaign and recommendations for optimisation.

4pm Towards the end of the day, I like to cover my general admin, including checking feasibility for potential studies and answering any further questions from clients/prospects.

5:30pm Before I log off, I check for any outstanding tasks and create to-do list for the next day.

6pm I log off and I help with my younger daughter’s bath and bedtime. Once the kids are in bed, I grab some dinner and wind down with some Netflix
