55% of British people do not want to be part of the European Union

In our latest mobile research poll we asked a series of questions about what British people thought about Europe and the crisis it faces.

The results showed that 55% of British people do not want to be part of the European Union and this increased to 62% for Conservative supporters:

Other highlights include:

  • 63% are concerned about the Euro Crisis, with 21% being very concerned.
  • Interestingly the events in Cyprus are having a ripple effect, and 53% of British people are concerned about their bank savings in light of events in Cyprus, where depositors with more than 100,000 euros could lose a percentage of their savings. This figures increases to 65% for Conservative supporters.
  • Worryingly 82% of British people do not trust politicians, a concern for a nation who needs to have an increase in confidence to get their economy moving again.
